Dear Mom and Pop
Well I certainly don't have much to write about these days. You lay around doing nothing all week and just about the time you're ready to go nuts you go on a mission, then you're ready to lay around for another week. I only have 16 in so far, that last mission is one I'd rather forget so we won't say any more about it except to say it was rough. I've only gotten one letter from you this year so far and here it is the 22 already. I've gotten three from Burny but they were all Vmail. I got two packages though, one from Unk and one from you. They sure were sell. Those were the right kind of books all right, but don't send any more mystery stories. I'd like a few late Posts and Colliers and once in a while a Better homes and gardens. I haven't gotten the esquire yet. No don't send any nuts Unks arrived in good condition but nobody eats them and every one got some for xmas. The fruit cake from Burny was in good condition. Say, you always ask how cold it is and say you don't understand. When I went to high school and college we always used the centigrade thermometer. It's the easiest one I ever used in my life. O degrees is freezing and 100 degrees is boiling. In the mornings it's around 0 degrees and during the day it goes up to about 16 degrees. If you still insist on F scare look in the dictionary under F or C and it will tell you how to convert. With all my school books in the house you certainly could have looked in there. Say, speaking of books, I have two small hand-books they have cardboard or paper covers on them - The Physics book has a green cover and the chemistry one is red - I think. There about the size of the mystery books you sent. I would like them if you can find them. It's 9:30AM and it's snowing quite hard now. The wind is also blowing. Night before last we had a gale and I thought the tent was going down for sure, but it didn't. Oh yes, on my last mission it was -50 degrees, how about that. Well, that's about all I can think of so I'll close for now.
Love, Rae
I think all mail goes by boat now that why it's slow.
