Dear Mom and Pop,

The mail has been very poor this last week - no letters at all except for a Vmail that you wrote on the 28 of Dec. saying you hadn't received any mail in a long while. I mailed one on the 15th that you must not have got - by this time you must have gotten quite a few. Yesterday we had quite a snow fall - at least three inches. Today it was ll melting and everything was a sea of mud and water. You have to be carefull where you step so the water doesn't go over your goloshes. It's quite cold tonight and the ground is half frozen already. At that rate it ought to be solid by morning. Today Mac was elected Vice President of the officers club. I have started playing bridge to pass the time. I haven't been to town in a coons' age. Flew down to the spur the other day - that was a change. You know we opened all our packages as we got them - well here it is the 11th of Jan. and we're just starting to run out of stuff we got. Buy the end of this month we ought to be back to normal. We had so many fruit cakes and so much candy it is still coming out of our ears. Can't say much for our missions, we've come back three times on three engines. I still just have 15 sorties in. These pictures are some we took while we were at Capri. They will mean more when I explain them so don't throw them away. We have some more but the're not ready. I will send them as soon as I get em. Well, I have to get up early tomorrow so I better hit the sac. Has Pa had his teeth out yet? You better have or else. That's all for tonight.

Love, Rae

P.S. Please send me a book to read.
