Dear Mom & Pop
Well xmas has come and gone already. We had turkey again with all the trimmings. On xmas eve I went ot midnight mass - it was quite impressive. I t was held in the big church in town. I didn't do much on xmas day - had a few drinks and then our big meal. I got two letters today , one from you Pop and one from Mom. I'm glad to hear that pop is finally going to get his teeth fixed. It sure took you long enough to make up your mind.
We had a big xmas tree in the club and it was all decorated with paper orniments. It really looks pretty good. It's still rain, rain all the time - we're living in a lake now instead of marsh. I haven't flown one mission this month and I was beginning to worry about getting in flying time for this month. Right now I'm waiting for those pipes to arrive - I sure hope they hurry up. That sweater sure is swell. I wear it all the time plus my long handles. You say you worry about me, well here's the only thing you have to worry about. If this war ends before I finish my missions I won't be able to come home first - they'll send us straight to the south Pacific from here. That's the way it looks now. And the way I figure I won't finish until the first of May, soooooo. You asked what I got in my boxes, well mostly caned fish and cheese. If you send caned fish and crackers you can't go wrong also reading material. Well, it's time to hit the sack. I have to get up early tomorrow for a change.
Love, Rae
