I really shouldn't be writing this cause I haven't heard from Dad yet but here's a short note.
I received two packages from you yesterday. The sweater arrived and it sure is swell. I wear it all the time. The soxs also arrived and quite the thing - I'm afraid I'll have to wash them myself. The stationary arrived at the oppertune moment cause I was ll out of it. I also got packages from Ruth Jean, Lois and Uncle Roy. I still owe aunt Elsie a letter but I believe I'll get it off tomorrow. Say are Aunt Marge and Con both in Gary or just Marge? I got a letter and a mass card from a gal in Wheaton - Millie. Do you remember her? I sure wish Roy King would write but I'll be darned if I'll write him first. I sent him a xmas card. I've received quite a few cards from you. I just got a letter from you today that you mailed on the 14th. I have had a cold the past week but the dock has been giving me sulfur pills so it just about gone now. So Son is bringing a gal home for xmas - how does Burnie like that - well, she's got Kenny so she hasn't got much room to kick. I always thought he would be the first one to be married - think it would do him good. Hope I get home by June - I sure would like to go to the south Pacific with him. There's no chance of me staying in the states after I've seen one tour of combat. Experence is to valuable at this stage of the game. What I would really like would be C54 but there's not much chance of that. Well I guess that enough for now - I'm still waiting for that letter from Pa.
Love, Rae
P.S. Please send me a book to read.
