Dear Mom and Dad

Will wonders never cease - I wrote yesterday and here I am writing again. See once we get stetled down I have more time to write. Right now it's raining and I do mean raining. I got seven letters today - four birthday cards and three letters - two from you and one from Aunt Eva. Say, before I forget your letters are never boring and ask all the questions you can think of cause they give me something to write about. Of the seven letters the oldest was postmarked the 11th and the newest the 14th. that's pretty good average about ten days. One of the cards was from Aunt Marge and the others from you. I had to laugh when I saw the picture of Auntie and Unk. In your indoor pictures you have too much light. If you take a picture by a window put all your artificial light opposite the window and don't have the subjects looking at the camera. For example in that picture of Unk and Auntie Eva should have been looking at the cup in her hand and Unk should have been watching her. You would still have gotten the faces and it would have made the eyes much better besides looking much more natural. I like that picture of you and Pa but since when do you have your picture taken with your glasses on. Every one has a family picture over here except me - can't you and Pa have a big picture taken together? Let's see now I have nine missions - I got credit for five by flying three. I didn't fly on the 12th but it was Friday the 13th when we went over Vienna. All our food is C rations. We get lots of spam and canned vegtables and fruit and usually once a week we have chicken. Lots of meat loaf and hamburgers and hot dogs and beans. For breakfast we almost always have french toast or flapjacks and bacon and some kind of juice and coffee. I'm getting just like you and Pa - I have to have my coffee and cigarette in the morning.
