Well here I am again - Well Well Well - I got the four pairs of sweat sox and the dark wool ones too - they sure are swell. I guess they'll last me for another two months. I finally got my watch back from the jewelers this week end. It took about four weeks to just get it cleaned. I also bought a new strap for it. I need a watch when I fly so I'll know when to come down. There is a clock in the front cockpit but I always had to strain to see it. I'd have to stick my head out the side and pull the nose up to see it. But now everything will be OK. I get my 30 hour check next week sometime. That will mean I'll only have two more to go. I've got about 27 hours now - 13 hours solo. I think we will start acrobatics this next week - I hope so. All we do so far is stalls - power on and off - spins, chandelles, lazy eights, and low altitude work such as: cross road 8's, S across a road, rectangular course, pylon eights, and I guess that's all. Oh, while I remember it I got the Daily News you sent - it so happened I didn't even get a chance to look at it - that's how busy they keep us. Well I reserved a hotel room for you so you don't have to worry about a place to live. You will get off at Riverside and then take the Hemet bus. It's about 40 miles but I guess I told you all this before. Say, have gotten the pictures yet? Well, I guess that's about all I have to say so I'll close.
Love,
Rae
P.S. So Pa's a big boss now eh? Do you make the groups stand at attention when they speak to you? Say, Pa, be careful when you work. Did you know that since Pearl Harbor there have been 20,206 casualties in the armed forces while for the same period of time there have been 80,000 deaths in defense plants. You poor civilians.
