If we don't start doing something soon I'll have nothing to write about. I've never done so much loafing as I have the last week. This morning after chow I went to town with twenty five other guys and got a hair cut. I was first in the chair so I got to wander about town for an hour. I bought a milk shake and played a pinball machine. When we came back to the gym we laid around until lunch. After lunch we were marched over to the auditorium and had a talk by the retiring president of the college. He looked about seventy years old and talked so low nobody could hear him so everyone went to sleep. That took about an hour and when we got back we had mail call. Still no mail from home. After mail call I sleeped until supper and after supper I watched the guys playing tennis. I just came in, it's 8:30 and now I have until 10:30 to do what? All the lights are on so you can't go to sleep so I guess I'll have to write letters. I think we're going to move out of here tomorrow or the next day. That sure will be swell with me for I'm tired of living out of a barracks bag. I don't know what kind of rooms we will get but I sure hope they're not crowded. It sure was warm today. It's like summer weather we used to have up there but they say it's only spring down here. Boy am I going to spend the hot summer. They say it's 110 degrees in the shade for a week running. It was so warm today the sweat rolled off. I guess by the time the hot weather really does come we'll be used to it. Well, I guess I'm just about all talked out so I better close now.

Love,
Rae
