Well, here it is Tuesday already and I'm behind in my writing as usual. I just got Pa's package today - they didn't send it out here and I had to go to town to get it. It was all OK - in one piece, and everything. You sure put enough cotton in it. When I saw the box I thought you had sent a case or something. Anyway, I want to thank you again, it was swell of you to send it. I got the two packages of gum you put in too. Now as for Mexico, about two or three weeks ago they put Juarez off limits for all army personnel. Soooo, I can't get to Mexico and buy anything. I didn't do anything today - we were supposed to have PT this morning but they called it off. We fly tonight but since I didn't have any trainer scheduled today I could loaf all day. Last night Dan and I went to the show with my date. We stopped in at the officers' club after and danced a little then came home early. It was a lousy picture called Gas Light. Oh, you asked what air force I'm in. Well, I'm in the most C.S. one of them all - otherwise known as the second A.F. The second AF is all heavy bombardment and as long as I'm in the states, I'll be in the 2nd AF. Well, I still think we'll go to the far east for combat - I hope so - that's where I'd like to go. So I've had too easy a life, eh? Well, I'd like to see you after a year of loafing in the army - I tell you what, next time I come home you can spank me all you want. I'd love it.

Ed went to B17s at Ardmore OKla. Sunday we flew to Phoenix but didn't stop. We might go to Blyth Calif. tonight - that's close to Yuma. I guess Son is home now, be sure and tell him to write as soon as he gets to the point. So I sounded like I was broke eh? Well, for the last two weeks I've been dead broke really flat, but day after tomorrow is pay day so everything's OK now. I get paid Friday but I don't know how much I'll be able to send home this month. I'll send some in my next letter but it won't be much. Well Pa, have you got out of the paint yet? I missed your stamp on ma's last letter. I can't imagine how you managed to write that swell letter you sent. But really pa, don't let ma write without you adding a few lines. Well, that's all for now, will write soon.

Love,
Rae
