Well, everything finally came, the pants and shirt outfit sure is cool - I wore one of them yesterday. I haven't tried to two shirts as yet. Now all I need is two pair of light weight slacks and I'm all set. Say ma, be sure and send me the price - the way I figured it, it came to $35. Is that right? They all fit swell. All I have to have done is to put the patches on the sleeves.
So you think I'm hot down here, eh? Well, here are the temp. for three days last week: 100, 101 and 99. The sun really burns down here. Say, if you happen to find any Skole suntan oil, send me some - that stuff is always sold out down here. Oh yes ma, I did something that you won't like at all. It took me some time to decide, but I just had to do it - there was no other way out - I had my hair cut short again. I was going to shave it but I was afraid I'd get too sunburned. We were supposed to fly Wed. night but it was too windy so we didn't have to. Thursday I played tennis and went swimming and then I had a date and went bowling in the eveing. I made a 164 game - good for me. Say pa, I made a 6, 10, 7 shot - pretty good, eh?
Your package came today but I haven't had time to go pick it up yet but I'm sure it's alright. They left a card in my box so I have to go down to the R.X. to pick it up. Thanks loads Pa. And don't worry, I know it isn't milk. Did you do any fishing in the river when you were at St. Charles? I remember when you always had a line in by the boat house or under the tree.
When the war is over I'm going to spend three months up north doing nothing but fishing and loafing. We sure had a bad day today. The bomb sight was off and we couldn't find the targets and the weather was bad. When we landed we still had ten bombs and 1600 rounds of ammunition. Well, I'm off to supper so I'll mail this now -
Love,
Rae
