Here it is Tuesday and I haven't mailed this yet. I was going to call pa up on Sunday but we got to be so late from flying I didn't wake up 'till noon and since we had classes in the afternoon, I couldn't make it. I got your letter Pa, thanks much. I knew you wouldn't let me down. Yesterday one of our gunners got married so we took the whole crew out to a chicken dinner last night. Four of them are married so there were 14 of us in all. We had quite a pleasant evening. The next class has come in so we're back on our old schedule again. Thursday is our day off this week but I guess we'll just go swimming or something. We're really broke for the rest of this week. Dan had $60 stolen from him so I lent him enough to pay his mess bill. The poor guy's going to be broke for some time. Here I was going to write more often but I've kind of slipped. I'll try to do better - now that we're back on the old schedule I'll have more time and I won't be so tired. I'm glad you like the flowers - that was all I could think of. It was too bad you weren't home when I called. Well, that's all for now, as soon as payday comes I'll call you up again.

That's all for now.

Love,
Rae

P.S Say pa, it looks like you still have a victory garden. Working at St. Charles and Roy's place all the time. I didn't think a farmer like you could become a city slicker.
